Obituary for Jo Ann Hart

Jo Ann Hart
Mrs. Jo Ann White Hart, age 81, of the New Garden Road section of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Friday (June 30, 2017) at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia. Born March 29, 1936 in Russell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Conley and Gaynelle Stump White. A lifelong resident of the Russell County area, she was of the Baptist faith. She had formerly been employed at Honaker Cannery for twenty years and was a member of the Home Demonstration Club and Ladies Friendship Circle. She enjoyed playing bingo and Rook, but most of all spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Hart, and one sister, Mary Ellen Puckett.
Survivors include one daughter, Aleta Lester and husband, Troy of Honaker; two sons, Darrell “Bo” Hart and wife, Joyce of Conway, South Carolina and Tony Hart and wife, Dorothy of Honaker; two sisters, Hazel Street of Honaker and Thelma White of Wise, Virginia; four grandchildren, Sonya Hillman, Robin Rothrock, Beth Price, and Heather Combs; three great-grandchildren, Sawyer Epps, Cooper Epps, and Lincoln Combs; several nieces, nephews, and many friends also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Larry Robinson and Rev. Stephen Musick officiating. Interment will follow in the Hart-Kendrick Cemetery at the Hart’s Creek section of Cleveland, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Harvey Hart, Jeff Hart, Terry Hart, Lonnie “Buck” Hart, Craig McGlothlin, Mike Street, Wayne Kiser, and Scott Ball.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Sunday.
