Obituary for Ervin Nuckles

Mr. Ervin Nuckles, age 76, of Lebanon, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (July 25, 2017) at his home. Born April 5, 1941 in Buchanan County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Dewey and Oma Tiller Nuckles. He had spent his early life in the Fletchers Ridge section of Buchanan County prior to moving to Lebanon in 1972. He attended Mill Cree Baptist Church and East Lebanon Freewill Baptist Church. A very talented carpenter, he had developed a knowledge and love for antiques and guns and enjoyed traveling the area looking for the best, most unique item.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Eva Jean Sprouse, and two brothers, Harley Nuckles and Earnest Nuckles.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Wilma Ray Nuckles of the home; one daughter, Stacey Whited and husband, Doug of Swords Creek, Virginia; one son, Gregory Ervin Nuckles of Lebanon; one granddaughter, “the pride and joy of his life”, Taylor Dye Adams and husband, Justin of Lebanon; one grandson, Dalton Gregory Nuckles of Lebanon; two sisters, Ivanell Tiller of Honaker and Sandy Wilson and husband, Rob of Lebanon; one brother, J.D. Nuckles and Loretta of Belfast, Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Larry Robinson and Rev. Jeff Kinder officiating. Interment will follow in the Nuckles Cemetery on Fletchers Ridge, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Doug Whited, Justin Adams, Bradley Nuckles, Tony Sprouse, Rob Wilson, and Delmer Farmer.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Men of East Lebanon Freewill Baptist Church, Johnny Farmer, Danny Wayne Nuckles, Brandon Nuckles, and Waylon Hart.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Wednesday.
